Palm Beach Day Academy seeks a Marketing and Communications specialist to fill for an employee on leave from December 2022 through March 2023. The position is responsible primarily for the management of PBDA’s social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube) while also providing key support to the school’s marketing efforts.
Qualified candidates will have experience and demonstrated skills in social media management; photography; developing digital content for the school’s emails, website, social media platforms, and marketing initiatives; and WordPress. The role will be responsible for producing content for PBDA’s social media, website, major events, and advertising opportunities, as needed. PBDA will also be undergoing a website overhaul during this timeframe and therefore candidates will assist in reviewing content and providing feedback throughout the web design process.
Preferred candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in a related field - Communications, English, Marketing/Communications, etc. - and previous experience working in a school. Candidates should have a working knowledge of tools and platforms in the social media space, experience in social media posting (including Stories and Reels), and knowledge of social media best practices. Expertise in InDesign, Canva, or a similar graphic design program is highly preferred. Candidates will display excellent communication and interpersonal skills, time management and organizational skills, as well as a strong work ethic. In addition, a knowledge of Blackbaud for internal and external school communication is highly desirable.
The role reports to the school’s Director of Philanthropy, who leads the Advancement Office, and has the following responsibilities and duties:
Monitor activities across PBDA's two campuses for opportunities to capture content for social media
Post mission and school-appropriate content to PBDA's social media (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter)
Creation of digital content and graphic design to be used on social media, the e-newsletter, flyers, invitations, marketing/Advancement campaigns, and more
Review organization and content of current website in order to provide feedback for the new website design. Candidate will also assist in minor updates to the School's current WordPress website
Upload and disseminate videos to School's YouTube and/or Vimeo accounts, as needed
Assist in relevant initiatives set forth by the School's Administrative and Advancement teams
