The Foster School at the University of Washington has an outstanding opportunity for a Marketing Director to join its marketing and communications team within the Office of Advancement.
Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, the Strategic Marketing Director will oversee the digital distribution channels of Foster’s content marketing and work collaboratively with the marketing team and faculty to produce and execute strategic plans to achieve marketing goals. The primary goal for this position is to elevate Foster’s brand and programs, as well as the marketing team’s reputation for excellence. This is a key position within the marketing team that will contribute to a culture of innovation and collaboration with measurable results.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with the CMO and school and program leadership to produce and execute long-term strategic plans aimed at achieving identified marketing goals including brand visibility and increased applications
Proactively identify means of expanding and improving marketing and business development efforts
Help establish annual goals, objectives, and strategies for Foster’s digital distribution channels including website, blog, magazine, and social media
Develop content marketing opportunity to further the visibility and reputation of Foster and its programs
Oversee and contribute to communications with external audiences such as prospective students, peer institutions, the business community, prospective donors, and alumni.
Build awareness and enhance the reputation of Foster to UW internal audiences
Oversee the adaptation and production of content for digital marketing purposes
Operations and Administration
Supervise the digital marketing team, social media manager, and project manager and set project expectations
Oversee SEO development and analytics
Develop relationships with leadership and faculty and ensure excellent marketing service and communication with stakeholders
Represent the school at university roundtables and liaison groups
Maintain an internal marketing services site so stakeholders are aware of supports and can easily submit requests
Other duties as assigned
A bachelor’s degree and at least five years of professional experience.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
Experience with content management and digital distribution tools
Experience developing and executing strategic plans and comprehensive marketing campaigns
Demonstrated communications skills, including online editing and writing skills
Strong organizational skills, relationship-building, initiative, creativity, and resourcefulness
