Georgetown's Earth Commons Institute is a hub for environmental and sustainability innovation, research and education to accelerate action on the most pressing issues of our earth. Assembling a team of interdisciplinary experts, researchers, leaders and students, the Earth Commons is transforming the university into a living laboratory to develop scalable solutions for a greener, more sustainable world.

Job Overview
The Events and Marketing Coordinator is responsible for events management, for communications and marketing support for the Earth Commons, and for managing and promoting the Earth Commons' events, such as conferences, lectures, VIP visits, festivals, book talks, recognition ceremonies, receptions, lunches, and arts events.
They also promote the Earth Commons within internal and external audiences through digital communications, internal networking, and promoting the Earth Commons' signature magazine, Common Home.
Work Interactions
Reports to the Earth Commons' Director of Communications, the Events and Marketing Coordinator engages multiple stakeholders across the University to support events and engagements of the Earth Commons.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
At least 3 years of events and media management experience or closely related experience - preference for higher education work experience and for as many as 8 years of experience
Commitment to environmental and sustainability causes, especially in an academic/ liberal arts context, as well as vibrant events serving a diverse community
Excellent interpersonal skills
Highly organized
Proficiency with technologies related to the duties of the position, including social media platforms, event management software, WordPress, Canva or the Adobe Creative suite
Strong attention to detail
Willingness and availability for evening and weekend hours during active periods of events programming (40 hours/ week total)
