Job Summary: The Marketing Manager II has a key role in advancing strategic priorities and raising the profile of The University of Alabama, in support of the University's strategic plan. This classification works within the Division of Strategic Communications to develop a clear understanding of plans, goals, and ongoing efforts for communications related to various clients.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of professional marketing, public relations, communications, or advertising experience.
Additional Department Summary: The Marketing Manager, Digital Marketing will utilize current and emerging digital tools to strengthen the initiatives of Strategic Communications as the division advances the mission of The University of Alabama. This position will prioritize recruitment and communications efforts for graduate degree programs by leveraging the University CRM tools, email marketing programs, digital marketing platforms, project management software and strategic communication campaigns to increase yield from domestic and international recruitment efforts of a diverse body of highly qualified enrolled students, and support their ongoing success.
The Marketing Manager, Digital Marketing must have the ability to generate and analyze complex reports, and utilize results to adjust and optimize marketing tactics. This position requires a working knowledge of landing page construction, data management and inbound marketing practices.
May be required to monitor and report on ongoing campaigns during night, weekend or holiday hours.
Skills and Knowledge: Candidates must have experience creating and executing email marketing and communications campaigns. Candidates should possess a working knowledge of Customer Relationship Management tools, web-based content management systems and digital analytics. Aptitude for learning emerging platforms, client communications, copywriting, editing, excellent oral and written communication skills, marketing research, project management and proofreading.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Slate CRM, Google Analytics certified, Google Adwords certified, experience providing art direction to designers and photographers, experience executing digital marketing campaigns, email campaign experience, experience buying and placing advertising, experience writing for fundraising campaigns, creating reports with MS Excel and experience with Power BI.
