Job Summary
The Director of Marketing performs a vital role in the Office of Marketing and Communications (OMC) at the Kelley School of Business by directing the planning and execution of marketing efforts in support of academic programs at both Kelley Bloomington and Kelley IUPUI.
Department Specific Responsibilities
Spends time as needed on both campuses. Leads a team of individuals located in Bloomington and Indianapolis, who create and carry out marketing plans and related activities for various programs.
At various times this work includes hiring, training, evaluating, coaching, assigning work, and setting goals and objectives.
Develops and evaluates strategies to advance brand awareness and enrollment based on data and insights.
Ensures campaigns and initiatives are integrated, cohesive, compelling, effective, consistent across platforms, and deliver a strong ROI.
Collaborates closely with peer OMC leaders, Kelley deans, program leaders, and other key stakeholders in Bloomington and Indianapolis, and reports directly to the Executive Director of Marketing and Communications.
Ensures compliance with Kelley and Indiana University brand standards.
Serves as the subject matter expert for the marketing of academic programs at Kelley.
Refines and optimizes standards and processes to ensure productivity, quality, transparency, and stakeholder satisfaction across all aspects of marketing for programs at Kelley.
Plans, tracks, and provides updates on the budget.
Monitors industry trends and best practices, makes process, operational, and strategic recommendations, and assists in implementing procedural changes.
Manages relationships with campus partners and outside vendors.
Performs other related duties as needed.
General Responsibilities
Directs operations for the marketing and communications function by providing oversight and direction within a department, large multi-faceted department, or multiple departments.
Hires, trains, evaluates, coaches, assigns work, sets goals and objectives, determines staffing needs, and directs the work of a team of Marketing Generalists and/or Marketing Assistants.
Manages relationships with various internal and external stakeholders; determines marketing needs, projects, and programs to align with objectives and goals and supervises processes such as the development of marketing timelines related to such initiatives.
Independently develops, evaluates, and executes basic and highly complex strategic marketing plans for a department, functional area within a department, or large, multi-faceted department to advance goals and objectives, including data collection and market research, target market definition, development of project timelines, sourcing of promotional materials, and marketing content creation.
Responds to escalated and complex inquiries and requests from direct reports and stakeholders; acts as a resource and explains policies, procedures, and programs.
Assists in budget planning and administration for marketing initiatives, including expenditures, revenue projections, and project and program costs.
Regularly researches relevant subject matter to increase knowledge in area(s) of specialty; monitors industry trends and best practices, makes process and operational and strategic recommendations to manager, and assists in implementing procedural changes.
May provide guidance to lower-level Marketing Leaders.

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment.
