JOB SUMMARY
The Roux Institute at Northeastern University marketing department is looking for a Marketing Manager to join our growing dynamic team. The Marketing Manager will be responsible for planning, directing and managing the inception and delivery of multiple marketing strategies and projects of varied types and levels of technical complexity.
This hybrid position is based in Portland, Maine, at Northeastern's Roux Institute, which launched in January 2020 with a focus on graduate learning, research collaboration, entrepreneurship, and partnership to drive economic development in the region.
The ideal candidate would have experience in marketing plan development, project planning, and managing integrated programs inclusive of digital and print executions. An agency background is a plus.
Responsibilities include:
Build marketing and uphold marketing goals, road maps and programs to support specific marketing objectives across different channels and segments in support of the Roux Institute's strategic goals
Work within in the marketing team to plan and execute a variety of projects
Measure and evaluate results of initiatives and campaigns
Manage relationships with respective stakeholders across the Roux Institute, Northeastern University and external stakeholders
Maintain day-to-day oversight of client relationship and project progress, flagging deadlines and prospective roadblocks
Attend regular marketing meetings to prioritize work, plan resourcing needs and voice emerging conflicts and/or opportunities
Step into new projects with enthusiasm and a collaborative mindset.
Support the overall quality of project deliverables by ensuring materials align with marketing goals and institutional level priorities and follow standard quality control processes before sharing with clients.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of experience in a marketing manager, marketing strategy or marketing client management role
Experience planning and managing complex marketing programs and reporting on the results
Offers excellent client relationship skills across all levels of internal and external organizations
Experience working on both print and digital projects
Exceptional organizational skills including attention to detail, effective multi-tasking and and superior time management
Strong problem-solving ability, including metrics-driven thinking
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Self-starter with a 'can do' attitude and intense desire to excel
Driven to push status quo through exploration and experimentation without losing sight of end goals
Experience working in a collaborative team and working directly with cross functional team (e.g. writers, designers, developers, social media manager),senior management and external stakeholders
Experience working with or confidence in ability to learn project management programs, collaborative team tools and WordPress.
Familiarity/Experience with the following a plus:
Marketing agency environment experience Working in a high-volume and fast paced environment
Background working through strategic, creative and technical projects
Building and improving marketing personas
Creating marketing segmentation plans
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
Day-to-day oversight of client relationship and projects
