Aidan Montessori School, located in Woodley Park, Washington, DC, is accepting applications for the position of Director of Communications, Marketing, & Events for the 2023-2024 school year. This is a full-time, fully-benefited, exempt position, with hours from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Mondays through Fridays and additional hours to support school events as needed.
The Director of Communications, Marketing & Events will be responsible for the following:
Overseeing publication production, content research and writing, and editing for all marketing collateral, newsletters, announcements, website updates, event collateral, school publications, and annual reports;
Working closely with the administration and teachers to meet strategic communication objectives and strengthen Aidan’s brand with all constituencies;
Collaborating with the Director of Advancement to create and execute all branding, communications, and event support for The Aidan Fund and Auction to Fund Students;
Managing school marketing and advertising efforts in conjunction with the Director of Admissions;
Supervising the Graphic Design and Publication Assistant's work and schedule so as to assure smooth production of publications and updated website and social media content;
Creating and managing content on social media accounts;
Coordinating photography and videography of school-related events and activities as needed;
Organizing, coordinating, and attending meetings as required to plan, promote, and execute all school-related Special Events, including making arrangements regarding venue, rentals, and volunteers; coordinating catering and supplies for school events; and managing event setup and clean up;
Collaborating closely with the school administration and Parent Association with respect to planning and production of events and all related materials, communication, and information.
Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree with 1-3 years of communication experience, preferably in a non-profit organization or education. Exceptional communication and organizational skills and experience with event planning are essential. Knowledge of Montessori is helpful, but not required. An ideal candidate is detail-oriented and will also have a combination of demonstrated knowledge, abilities, and interests in the following areas:
Strong computer skills, including Google, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft;
Ability to multitask, work under pressure, prioritize, and meet deadlines;
Experience in digital and print marketing, content marketing, and social media marketing;
Work effectively both independently and as part of a team;
Maintain strict confidentiality and data security at all times;
Strong photography and videography skills.
