Summary Description: North Carolina Association of Electric Cooperatives is a membership organization comprised of 26 locally owned and operated electric distribution cooperatives across North Carolina. We are looking for an experienced marketing manager who can effectively lead internal cross-functional teams, external partners, including distribution electric cooperatives and consultant or agency partners, to develop marketing strategies and manage the process that will translate business requirements into meaningful experiences and engagement opportunities. This is an integral role within our organization, and the right person will have a significant impact.
Academic and Trade Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or a related field is required.
Work Experience: At least five years of experience in marketing strategy development and process management whether with an agency or corporation. Experience in the energy industry and/or as part of a trade association is a plus.
Responsibilities:
Develop strategies that translate organization and member cooperative business requirements into meaningful consumer experiences.
Translate strategies into actionable marketing plans that include metrics-based performance objectives; use data to refine and evolve tactics.
Support member cooperatives by providing B2C framework for their local implementation.
Track consumer experiences across online and offline channels, devices, and touchpoints and make recommendations for improvement.
Identify consumer needs, coordinate, and execute proactive steps to enhance consumer experiences and brand awareness.
Manage projects, timelines, and deliverables within budget.
Engage in creative and messaging development based on a defined segmentation strategy.
Collaborate with internal, cross-functional teams, agency and business partners and demonstrate leadership.
Job Knowledge: Considerable knowledge of the marketing process, including defining strategies and developing actionable plans. Understanding of and interest in evolving marketing and consumer experience best practices, strategy, and resources. Familiarity with energy industry and/or trade associations is a plus.

Proficiency in CRM tools, preferably Salesforce, as well as Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
Relationships and Contacts: Reports to Manager of Business Strategy
Working Conditions: Normal working conditions, including some travel and responsibilities outside of normal business hours. Up to two remote days per week at manager’s discretion after onboarding.
