The Director of Marketing is responsible for developing and implementing strategic marketing, communication, and outreach plans to promote the organization's mission and vision. The Director will lead Institutional Research efforts to provide data and analysis to inform school strategy and institutional messaging and will oversee the planning and execution of events that engage all scope of Brewster constituents. Working closely with the Head of School, the Senior Strategy Team, and members of the Integrated Outreach Leadership Team, the director will lead the Academy's messaging in service to our mission, vision, and institutional priorities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and execute marketing and outreach strategies via a comprehensive communications plan in coordination with Brewster's marketing team.
Lead Institutional Research efforts to provide data and analysis for informing school strategy and effective institutional messaging.
Take ownership of all institutional research and partner with department leaders who manage academic research and annual reporting metrics.
Give context to the data analysis with comparisons to industry standards and Brewster's customized longitudinal studies. Distill qualitative and quantitative findings into actionable recommendations.
Collaborate with other departments to create effective communication strategies to inform and engage internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that all efforts are consistent with the organization's brand and messaging.
Design and implement a market research approach to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
Provide leadership and guidance to event planning, setting, and overseeing the objectives of the events to ensure they align with Academy priorities and strategic goals.
Lead, mentor, and evaluate the communications team to maximize performance, directly supervising Brewster's Director of Communications, Director of Integrated Media and Marketing, and Special Events & Programs Manager
Work in alignment with Brewsters Outreach departments to develop and manage Communications and External Affairs budgets.
Set annual goals for integrated outreach including annual messaging priorities and appropriate metrics to track progress.
Lead regular meetings with the integrated outreach leadership team and periodic in-service meetings with the broader outreach group; foster an open exchange of ideas and identify opportunities for collaboration and efficiency.
Provide regular reports to the Senior Strategy Team and Board of Trustees on marketing and outreach activities and institutional research and their impact on the organization's objectives.
Develop a framework for collecting, comparing, and sharing institutional data across Brewster's international network of schools.
Serve as a contributing and leading member of institutional research organizations (e.g. CIRIS)
Showcase Brewsters research initiatives (e.g. in educational publications, at research and independent school conferences)
Continuously monitor and analyze the effectiveness of marketing and outreach efforts and adjust strategies as needed.
Conduct custom-designed primary research for the range of constituency groups at Brewster: Students (incoming, current, global immersion enrollees), Parents (incoming, current), Applicants (non-matriculants, early pipeline inquiries), Employees (current, exiting), Alumni
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field.
Meaningful experience in leading marketing, outreach, and/or institutional research.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team effectively.
Strong project management skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, including associated budgets and resources.
Excellent communication skills and effective collaboration with other departments and stakeholders.
Experience with market research and analysis, both quantitative and qualitative.
Knowledge of digital marketing strategies and tools.
Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
A strong commitment to a co-educational boarding school education.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
This position is a full-time, 12 months, exempt, salaried position with corresponding benefits.
