Overview
The Director of Admissions, Marketing and Recruitment serves on the senior management team and is charged with attracting, recruiting, selecting and matriculating a diverse incoming class of high caliber students to the NYU Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Marketing and Enrollment Management, the Director will develop, grow and evolve an integrated, data-driven admissions and marketing strategy and deliver actionable analysis to drive the business through enrollment management. The Director is responsible for: a) overseeing and directing across multiple functions, from marketing and recruitment to admissions and enrollment. Manages the admissions and marketing teams, ensuring efficiency, driving quality control, providing a high-level of customer service, and enrolling high quality students across the Wagner educational offerings; b) providing expertise in cross-functional communications (i.e. Slate) and data systems; analyzing data, developing and presenting ongoing reports outlining critical information for the full portfolio of programs at NYU Wagner for various stakeholders; c) providing strategic leadership around the management, collection, and analysis of school-wide admissions data to inform decision-making and consult on financial aid strategy; d) collaborating with administrative and faculty leadership on new and continuing initiatives; e) working with central University units to share information and ensure best practices; and; f) representing NYU Wagner to the University and other institutions regarding admissions and marketing.
Responsibilities
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education: Master's Degree Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or related field is preferred.
Required Experience: 7+ years related experience in higher education or comparable field of work. Experience working in applicant information systems and/or related technologies. Must have progressively responsible experience working in data management, enrollment management, and data analysis and marketing for recruitment. Strong technical knowledge working in relational databases, and ability to manipulate data. Ability to collect and analyze data to inform decision-making, share data in a visually compelling way, and clearly communicate recommendations and strategies. Occasional travel, weekend and evening work required for focused recruitment purposes.
Preferred Experience: Previous experience or involvement in shaping financial aid strategy. Previous experience working with Slate CRM or similar systems preferred. Experience in data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and a commitment to diversity and inclusion. Prior experience with college recruitment, admissions, student aid and/or related field is preferred.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Ability to project a professional and customer-service oriented image of NYU Wagner. History of building institutional and/or organizational relationships. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, problem solving, written and oral communication skills are required. Must be able to work effectively with a broad range of stakeholders and have an entrepreneurial spirit evidenced by resourcefulness and creativity in strategy development, and comfort with ambiguity as new initiatives and approaches emerge. Must be well versed in quality data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy and legitimacy of data in systems and be able to strictly follow data privacy and security procedures for data handling and analysis to ensure adherence to legal and institutional standards. Must have strong knowledge of and experience with Excel. Minimum of 2+ years of managerial experience, with strong interpersonal skills and ability to work on deadlines in at-times high-stress situations.
Qualifications
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $100,000.00 to USD $140,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
