OSU Libraries & Press is seeking a Marketing Manager. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position.
The Marketing Manager plays a central role in promoting OSU Press, its authors, and its scholarly and trade publishing program. The Marketing Manager works with internal and external partners and Press staff to generate awareness of and enthusiasm for the Press's publications; amplifies the Press's public profile and impact; develops and executes concrete marketing and publicity plans; reviews sales results and other financial information to evaluate the Press's performance, and builds relationships with authors, media, and the book community.
Typically requires Bachelor's degree in Literature, English, Natural Resources, Environmental Sciences or related field. One year or more of professional experience in scholarly, professional, or trade book publishing related to assigned responsibilities.
Requirements :
Bachelor's degree (in communications, marketing, business, humanities, or other relevant field) and one year experience in book marketing, publicity, or sales; OR equivalent combination of education, training and experience in book marketing, publicity, or sales.
Demonstrated ability to promote and publicize books, individually and/or as part of a publishing program.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, decision-making, and organizational skills.
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Demonstrated commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
Familiarity with standard office software and programs, including Excel, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite; content management programs; and database or title management systems.
Familiarity with current social media trends and practices.
This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per University Policy 05-030.
