Job Overview: This position reports to the Vice President for Marketing and Community Relations. It has primary responsibility for managing the design and production of all Albertus Magnus College publications and collateral materials. The Director of Marketing and Creative Services assists in planning, developing, and executing the College's integrated strategic communications and marketing programs to support branding, enrollment, and advancement. The Director of Marketing and Creative Services will develop ideas, campaigns, and themes and translate them into powerful and effective marketing tools that consistently communicate, elevate, and maintain the Albertus Magnus College brand. The Director of Marketing and Creative Services manages a Marketing and Communications team of three, including public relations, social media, and digital marketing staff; and external creative and production vendors; manages internal and external production processes; manages the workflow of the College's integrated strategic communications plan; and oversees a portion of the marketing budget. The Director of Marketing and Creative Services works closely with the Director of Web Strategy and Communications to integrate all digital campaigns and website content (Albertus.edu). They will provide regular performance reports to the Vice President for Marketing and Community Relations. The Director of Marketing and Creative Services will represent the College at public events and will have the opportunity to participate in other special projects of the department, including public relations, special events, and digital communications
Essential Functions:
Strong knowledge of modern marketing/branding/communications concepts and execution.
Able to develop relationships that strengthen our internal and external pools of expertise to reach production deadlines on budget.
Engage others in the College community to participate in the development of content.
Demonstrate best practices in graphic design, and project planning and management.
Oversee the consistency and integrity of the Colleges brand identity.
Responsible for design and production of print and digital media.
Assists in planning and developing the Colleges integrated strategic communications marketing program.
Analyzes and interprets the requirements for the design and production of a wide range of publications that meet the Colleges admissions, fundraising, and brand awareness needs.
Possesses expert understanding of multimedia design and experience building files for both print and digital. Is comfortable teaching and supervising others in this area.
Prepares design layouts, specifications and artwork for brochures, magazines, posters, mailers and other printed and digital graphic materials.
Writes copy for recruitment materials, alumni magazine, advertising, College website
Provides feedback and direction to external graphic and website designers.
Monitors scheduling and overall job production; coordinates interrelated activities with others to promote efficient workflow.
Reviews materials prior to submission to printers to ensure that instructions are clear, specifications are followed; identifies and corrects quality concerns. Reviews and approves proofs.
Monitors vendor adherence to quality expectations and deadlines.
Develops projects, budgets, and deadlines with staff and faculty to help meet their design and publication needs.
Photography and videography experience and the ability to translate images into social media/web and print content; create designs that work across multiple platforms.
Occasionally represent the College at external events.
Participate in special projects of the Marketing and Communications Department including special events, public relations, and digital communications.
Supervise a part-time Marketing/Communication position (may be work-study or student worker.) as well as Marketing student interns.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated excellence in Microsoft suite, Google suite, Adobe Creative Suite
Familiarity with social media platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube and Hootsuite, with a keen interest in 'whats next.'
Familiarity with HTML coding and SEO/keyword research is desirable but not mandatory.
Excellent organizational, verbal and written communications skills.
Knowledge of the fundamentals of copy editing and standard proofreading.
Must be able to anticipate needs and deliver timely, relevant solutions and actions.
Must be able to develop rapport and relationships with all levels of employees.
Must be capable of handling sensitive, confidential, and critical information.
Must be proactive and adaptive in a rapidly changing environment and adjust with a 'can-do' attitude.
Must be self-directed and independent while still functioning as part of a team.
Must have good time management skills, be organized, detail oriented, and be capable of multi-tasking across departments, activities, and projects to produce accurate work under deadline pressure.
Education:
Bachelor's degree required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
At least six years experience with graphic design and publications production. Expertise in all aspects of technical production and design of publications.
A demonstrated track record of success and good judgement in planning and implementing integrated communications as part of a larger organizational communication strategy.
Experience in higher education, magazine/newspaper design/production or corporate communications given special consideration.
Work Schedule Requirements:
Office environment although work will occur across campus. Standard working hours; position requires some evening and weekend hours

Full-time employees are eligible to receive medical, dental, and vision benefits. Full-Time employees can earn between 18-23 paid time off a year. The employer covers tuition remission after 90 days of employment and covers 100 % (employees responsible for books and technology fees). The college is committed to work-life balance and has a summer schedule from June through August. We currently have 14 paid holidays, including a winter break.
