KPBS TV/FM is the public television and radio stations for San Diego. Licensed to San Diego State University, KPBS supports and furthers the university's educational and community service mission by informing, enlightening and empowering its audience. It does so not only by presenting national and locally produced programming of value to its San Diego audience, but also by producing programming about San Diego and its people for distribution nationwide.
The KPBS Corporate Development Department is responsible for securing support from corporations, individual businesses and government agencies. That support is recognized in the form of underwriting or credits in our local, regional and national television and radio programming. Additionally, the Corporate Development Department is responsible for generating revenue through support of the KPBS.org website. The department consists of a Sales Manager, account executives, two support personnel, one research person and a student assistant.

Responsibilities The Corporate Development Marketing & Sales Coordinator works under the general supervision of the KPBS Corporate Development Sales Manager to provide support and work closely with the sales department. This position assists the Sales Manager with the implementation of activities that reinforce the attainment of the departments annual goals and objectives; lead coordinator for the departments pursuit and management of developing new underwriting prospects (lead generation), assist with hosting client events and other client relationship building activities and communications; and other marketing and business development support to the organization. This position also provides assistance to the Account Executives, Corporate Development Operations Manager and Marketing & Sales Specialist with proposals, presentations, and other assignments as required to close sales.

Corporate Development Coordination & Administration (40%)
Act as one of the liaisons with internal departments to achieve overall station goals.
Assist in the management of company files and maintenance of data and department documentation.
Help maintain and update Wide Orbit database for Account Executives.
Assist in the management of expenses for Sales Manager.
Assist department with disbursement and purchase order forms and in reconciliation of monthly client invoicing with Accounting & Finance department
Coordinate KPBS guest processes
Act as the program coordinator of the KPBS Arts Briefs, collecting materials from 2 sponsors each supporting 6 organizations monthly, development of FM copy, coordinating and facilitating the production of 4-8 monthly TV spots. Communicate internally across departments, Art Brief Freelancers and with external participants/sponsors.
Facilitate In Kind asset distribution to include tickets for corporate underwriters, donors, members and guest lists for galas and events.
Coordinate and plan bi-annual Corporate Underwriting events.
Oversee weekly maintenance of Corporate Development Sponsorship website, creating cover graphics with approved corporate sponsor logo and URL.
Help provide work direction and training to part-time student assistants.
Corporate Development Lead Generation (25%)
Support corporate development with database support, file maintenance, general administrative support, marketing projects and other duties as needed.
Act as data steward reviewing information for submission to database, ensuring standardization, accurateness and completeness.
Continually build a prospective list of clients for the purpose of generating qualified leads for the department's sales team. The coordinator will assist the sales team with new client development as well as support the growth and expansion of revenue garnered on all KPBS media platforms. This will be accomplished by utilizing third-party research and reports to create sales proposals and presentation materials for the sales team.
Assist with developing proposals and presentations and other sales materials for Account Executives.
Assign and screen incoming warms leads and referrals, to include quarterly & annual reports analyzing the ratio of success.
Maintain CRM tool (ACT!) on a regular basis.
Generate Media Monitors prospective account lists. Become a member in regular meetings with Account Executives and provide follow-up analysis reports.
Corporate Development Marketing and Research Planning (15%)
Assist in the preparation and delivery of marketing materials for current and prospective clients, including printed and bound materials, proposals, pitches, and PowerPoint presentations with station information.
Assist with creating content for use on the stations website, newsletter(s), brochures, internal communications, client alerts, potential client proposals, station announcements and other external materials.

Experience
Four years of progressively responsible experience in an office, sales, fundraising, marketing or administrative environment
Education
High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Communication, Marketing, Business or related field, and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of sales related office policies, procedures, practices, or programs.
Knowledge or experience with Sales CRM software.
Experience working in a fast-paced office or in a sales environment is helpful.
Experience with learning new software updates and the ability to train co-workers on software products utilized within the department.
