University Enterprises Corporation at CSUSB ('UEC') supports the university's educational mission by providing quality services that complement the instructional program. The University depends upon UEC to provide services that cannot be supported with state funds. We're responsible for business enterprises on campus including, but not limited to, dining, bookstore, convenience store, and vending services. We also serve as the grantee for federal, state, and local funding for research and sponsored projects.
Position Summary
Temporary, Full Time, Non-Exempt, Benefited position through 6/30/2024 (Appointment may be renewed annually based upon availability of funds, availability of work and satisfactory job performance).
Salary: $3,814.00-$4,167.00 per month.
Location: San Bernardino.
Work Schedule
40 hours per week. Typically, Monday-Friday from 9:00AM-5:00PM though some nights, weekend work may be required. Occasional travel required.

Typical Activities
Under minimal supervision of the CAE Assistant Director, the Marketing and Events Coordinator will work independently to:
Marketing Coordination:
Marketing Strategy Development: Proficient in collaborating with program and project managers to develop comprehensive marketing strategies that align with organizational goals.
Budget Management: Ability to assist in formulating budget proposals and securing funding for marketing initiatives.
Creative Content Development: Demonstrated creativity in conceptualizing marketing collateral such as flyers, social media posts, and digital communications to engage target audiences effectively.
Audience Profiling: Proficient in developing detailed audience profiles to tailor targeted marketing campaigns and promotions, enhancing brand presence and event attendance.
Campaign Execution: Skilled in guiding marketing efforts from conceptualization to implementation, ensuring seamless execution of campaigns across various platforms.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey marketing messages effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze marketing metrics and insights to measure campaign effectiveness and make data-driven decisions for optimization.
Event Coordination:
Event Planning: Proficient in coordinating all aspects of events including venue selection, contract negotiation, and logistics management to ensure successful execution.
Project Management: Ability to develop comprehensive event plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring all elements are coordinated and executed on schedule and within budget constraints.
Promotion and Registration: Skilled in promoting events through various channels and managing registration processes to maximize attendance and participation.
Stakeholder Management: Ability to serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders and partners, ensuring effective communication and collaboration throughout the event planning and execution process.
Vendor Coordination: Experience in collaborating with internal teams and external vendors to coordinate event logistics and services, ensuring seamless execution.
Travel Management: Willingness to travel for events, estimated at 5-8 trips per year, to oversee on-site coordination and ensure successful event delivery.
Evaluation and Improvement: Proficient in conducting post-event evaluations to gather feedback and insights, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes for future events
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Hospitality Management, Communications, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in marketing coordination, event planning, or a related field.
Project Management Skills: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively convey information to diverse audiences.
Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to maintain accuracy while managing multiple tasks.
Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and independently with minimal supervision.
Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to identifying issues and implementing solutions.
Computer Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with marketing and event management software/tools.
Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed for event coordination.
Applicants must have experience using standard office software programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.

Must be a US citizen and be authorized to work in the United States.
Must have the ability and willingness to travel via air travel and car. Must have a valid driver's license.
Experience in Industry: Prior experience in marketing or event coordination within the industry (e.g., nonprofit, education, healthcare) is preferred.
Budget Management Experience: Experience in budget management and financial planning for marketing initiatives or events is an advantage.
Vendor Network: Established network and relationships with event vendors, suppliers, and service providers is beneficial.
Social Media Management: Experience in social media management and digital marketing, including content creation and analytics, is advantageous.
Event Promotion: Prior experience in event promotion and marketing, including developing promotional strategies and materials, is desirable.
Travel Experience: Previous experience coordinating events that require travel, including logistics planning and on-site coordination, is beneficial.
