Position Summary:
Fordham University's Marketing Videographer and Photographer creates engaging video content that supports the university's strategic enrollment and fundraising goals as well as key stakeholders such as schools and departments within the university. Reporting to the senior director of creative services, the person in this position will be part of a talented in-house creative team who specializes in strategic problem solving and storytelling across media platforms.
The ideal candidate is a creative, fast-moving, flexible individual with a good eye who can tell the Fordham story through both moving and still images for multiple audiences on multiple platforms. Videos and photographs created by this individual will be featured in Fordham's marketing materials from print, to the website, to paid advertising campaigns.

Essential Functions:
Shoots video and photos on set and on location—on Fordham's campuses and throughout NYC.
Sets up and takes down cameras, microphones, lighting, props and other equipment.
Edits footage and photos after shooting.
Adds lower thirds, captions, and effects to videos that are consistent with Fordham's brand.
Shoots b-roll.
Selects, cleans and performs maintenance (including some repairs) on equipment when able.
Experiments with styles and techniques, including the design of graphic elements.
Suggests or selects music.
Corrects color.
Manages video and photo archives.
Maintains appropriate licensing rights for use of music and other intellectual property.
Collaborates closely with the Marketing team and clients on strategy to deliverables, interprets creative directives, and implements feedback.
Travels between Fordham's Bronx and Manhattan campuses, and other locations in NYC, as needed—sometimes on short notice.
Performs work on weekends and evenings when necessary.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
3 to 5 years of experience producing multimedia for the purpose of marketing a company or an institution.
Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
Possess multitasking skills for working on many projects at once with multiple deadlines.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with clients, staff and students.
Ability to communicate with diverse professionals in a positive, collegial manner.
Ability to tell stories visually and create compelling and inspiring narratives.
Be proficient in telling a cohesive story and develop concepts that support the university and departmental strategic goals.
Have the physical ability to move and hold recording equipment for long periods.
Strong working knowledge of Adobe Premiere CC, Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, and Motion graphics technology.
Knowledge of ADA compliant regulations.
Knowledge of basic organizational web tools: Google Drive (preferable), email managers, video conference programs, and calendars.
Demonstrated comprehensive, in-depth knowledge of pre-production/planning, storyboarding, studio and field production, lighting/grip, audio engineering, video composition, and video/image compression for multiple delivery platforms.
Knowledge of post-production techniques.
Expert knowledge in lighting especially for indoor shoots, sound recording, and editing.
Experience capturing/importing media, organizing raw media, editing footage and sound files, creating and inserting static and motion graphics, closed captioning, adding music/voice over, media management and archiving project media, and posting to YouTube and other web platforms.
Up to date with new industry technological advances, software and equipment.
Strong knowledge of the latest trends and best practices in successful and measurable audience engagement through multimedia projects.
Possess administrative and project management skills.
Candidate should have a strong eye for detail and be able to work autonomously as well as a team member.
Willingness to learn and champion Fordham's Jesuit and Catholic mission and identity.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in communications, media arts, multimedia production, photography, or related field.
