Job Description:
The Catering and Conferences Sales and Marketing Manager will work directly with clients and potential clients to secure their business and plan events. This position will also work with internal Ashland University clients to generate Banquet Event Orders for their events. This position also works with the Auxiliary Services departments to generate marketing content for Catering, Student Dining, and the Campus Store.
Sales Responsibilities:
Lead venue tours with prospective clients.
Initiate and complete sales follow up for all leads including emails, calls, and reminders.
Responsible for generating all food, beverage, linen and décor details for all booked events.
Responsible for all upsells and upsell programs including décor, fresh flowers, all-inclusive packages, and Eagle Custom Merchandise.
Responsible responding to all digital leads including via email, wedding wire, and other online databases.
Attend bridal shows to sell AU Catering services and venues.
Default event supervisor when one is needed based on multiple events in one date or more events in one week than hourly supervisors can work.
Work with General Manager and Chef to plan details of AU hosted special events such as Easter, Mother's Day, YMBC Ladies Night, and the Eagler golf outing.
Work with General Manager of Catering and Conferences to create new menus, packages, and brochures, including pricing.
Generate all internal supply orders and maintain the supply order Google form with new items and update pricing annually.
Marketing Responsibilities:
Create marketing materials and campaigns for all catering special events, menus, brochures, and social media content, including Easter Brunch, Mother's Day Brunch, and the Eagler golf outing.
Manage Catering website.
Manage Catering Instagram and Facebook.
Run student secret shopper program every spring for Eagles Nest, Convo, Schar COE, Tuffy's, and COBE.
Oversee PR releases for all auxiliary services.
Oversee PR and Marketing Intern for Auxiliary Services.
Design and deploy both digital and print flyers for Student Dining, Eagles Nest, and Campus Store special events.
