Reporting to the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Communications, this role is responsible for leading all marketing, promotional, and fan experience efforts to elevate the visibility and support of Tarleton Athletics. The Associate AD will develop and execute strategic initiatives aimed at increasing attendance, enhancing game-day atmosphere, and driving ticket sales for select sports and the overall department. This position requires strong collaboration with campus departments, students, faculty, staff, and external partners to promote athletic events and deepen community engagement.

In-office role based on-site in Stephenville, Texas with work hours of Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm; regular evening and weekend hours are required to support home athletic events. Serves as Campus Security Authority (CSA). Must have the ability to work remotely at the request of the university in times of inclement weather or other special circumstances.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Â
Game-day scripting, leading, and implementing of in-game marketing and fan engagement efforts, including but not limited to in-game music, entertainment, public address, video board fan engagement camera operators, etc.
Graphic design
Developing, recommending, and implementing marketing and promotional strategies and policies to increase awareness and attendance.
Managing departmentâ™s daily advertising efforts on social media to generate revenue and promote attendance at athletic events.
Managing day-to-day online and digital marketing initiatives. Collaborating to create and execute marketing programs and campaigns.
Marketing, promoting, and assisting with athletics fundraising efforts
Implementing ticket promotions, sales plans, advertising campaigns, and community and statewide outreach events
Collaborating closely with internal colleagues to create highly engaging fan experiences
Creating fan development and community outreach initiatives
Conceptualizing content and strategy for video board use at select venues
Managing game-day operation of any athletic event, including integration with videoboard, public address, and promotions. Includes preparation of game-day schedule of activities, pregame and halftime entertainment, developing positive game atmosphere, etc.
Supervising the work of the Assistant Director of Marketing & Fan Engagement, including training and evaluation of employeeâ™s performance. Responsible for assigning duties, responsibilities, and specific projects.
Responsible, in collaboration with other staff members, for fulfilling obligations to sponsors and advertisers, including media placement, merchandising, and other sponsor services. Responsible for fulfilling all sponsor-related advertising on the schoolâ™s official athletics website and social media pages.
Maintaining constant communication with businesses and groups across campus to drive awareness of games/events and encourage attendance and participation.
Coordinate promotional activities aimed at increasing student attendance with student groups.
Performing other job-related duties as assigned by Senior Associate Athletic Director for Communications.

Minimum Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Knowledge of NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletics
Exhibit strong creative, organizational and interpersonal skills
Excellent communication skills
Demonstrated ability to remain composed and perform effectively in high-pressure or challenging situations
Proven ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks over sustained periods
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop
Graphic design/illustration skills
Competent in all digital and print marketing avenues

Preferred Education and Experience:
Masterâ™s degree in Marketing, Journalism, or related major
5 yearsâ™ experience within an intercollege athletic department (Division I preferred) or professional sports organization

This position requires work beyond normal business hours, weekends, and holidays.

Commensurate with experience
Salary Range
The target base annual salary is commensurate with experience and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
