Reporting to the Associate Athletics Director for Analytics and Sales Strategy, the Director of Digital Marketing is responsible for building and execution of the digital communications within Department of Athletics with the goal of revenue generation through ticket sales, and the positive promotion of our teams and department. This role will create, coordinate, and schedule digital email communications. Specifically, this role will write messaging, build the communications, perform segmentation, and be responsible for the execution of the digital campaign. This role will determine the content, frequency, timing, and audience for digital campaigns. Following the operation of a digital campaign, this role is also responsible for analyzing the results and key metrics being measured by the campaign across email, GoHeels app, social, and web. Another key responsibility is to collaborate and proactively brainstorm necessary upcoming communications with other department team members. This role must work with and influence different stakeholders to obtain the supporting documentation and information needed to execute the respective digital communications. Additionally, this role will support, and help coordinate, communications within the GoHeels app. The Director of Digital Marketing will also determine campaign result metrics to optimize digital communications, improve digital campaign processes, and inform the digital strategy moving forward across the email, app, and web platforms. This will include utilization of various tools such as Google Analytics, Oracle Eloqua software, and Tableau. The focus of the communications will include selling tickets, and promoting competitions, teams, and other topics as necessary across email, GoHeels app platform, and other mediums as required. Position requires a strong communicator, be creative and strategic, must work with and across multiple External units (including Ticket Operations, Marketing/Fan Experience and Creative Services), and use metrics to critically analyze, customize and optimize digital campaigns. Must be a strong strategic writer who is proficient with social media and has experience implementing marketing campaigns and analyzing results. Graphics design skills, experience running an app, knowledge of Paciolan and Oracle Eloqua are preferred. Experience in Athletics Marketing and/or Athletics Data Analytics preferred.
Education and Experience:
2-3 years of full-time experience working in college athletics or professional sports marketing, business intelligence/data analytics, sales, and/or communications. Graphics design skills, experience running an app, knowledge of Paciolan and Oracle Eloqua. Experience with web analytics (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, etc.) and marketing automation programs. Knowledge of and compliance with NCAA, ACC and institutional rules that relate to this position.
Essential Skills:
Bachelor's degree required. Strong strategic writing and verbal communications skills. Experience planning and implementing marketing campaigns. Experience analyzing metrics to report campaign results and identify solutions for improvement. Proficient with social media and apps. Outstanding organization skills, including a strong design sense and close attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Create Suite. Late nights, weekends, and holiday work.
