Description of Work:
The Communication and Marketing Photographer works with faculty, staff, and students to showcase the University of Nebraska-Lincoln community through photography. The position will—with help from coworkers—strategically guide UCOMM and other departments toward obtaining photography that best aligns with the strategic plan and mission. The CMP can successfully photograph campus life, student events, classroom, research, and studio portraiture.
Job Duties
Photograph campus life, student events, classroom, research, and studio portraiture, as assigned by the Director of Video. (50 percent)
Use computer programs Adobe Creative Cloud suite, specifically Photoshop, Lightroom and Photo Mechanic, to edit, tone, save and distribute image to internal and external clients and partners while meeting and exceeding customer expectations and deadlines. (30 percent)
Communicate photo ideas/requests and collaborate with colleagues to turn them into excellent visual story-telling reality. (10 percent)
Writing and information gathering for supplementing stories, captions, and keywording metadata. (10 percent)

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Art, Graphic Design, Photojournalism or related degree and one year experience in photographing for higher ed, journalism or marketing employers, equivalent education/experience considered including paid experience while a college student. Must have a valid driver's license and meet University driver eligibility requirements.
