Description The Marketing Communications Specialist is the liaison between Global Marketing and Communications (GMC) and one of its major clients, the Office of Advancement (donor relations and alumni relations) and other clients within the University. The position works as a part of the internal agency team to write and produce printed materials, solicitation letters, newsletters, social media, videos, direct mail and other communications as needed for campuses in the U.S. and internationally.
Maintains the client relationship between GMC and the Office of Advancement as directed by the Senior Director of Communications.
Serves as a project manager for requests from the Office of Advancement, along with other writing and project management duties assigned for other areas.
Creates communications campaigns for alumni engagement and donor solicitation projects, including Homecoming and Alumni Weekend, Giving Day and other events and projects needed by the Office of Advancement.
Writes and coordinates the editing, design, production, and distribution for a variety of printed materials and digital media, including brochures, fact sheets, donor reports, solicitation materials, invitations, programs, scripts, webpages, emails, newsletters, videos, and social media posts.
Acts as proofing editor to ensure readability and to detect and correct errors on spelling, punctuation and syntax using AP Style.
Collaborates with University staff to conduct interviews and tell stories about the University, faculty, students, and alumni.
Coordinates the crowdfunding application, timelines, and communications. Works with constituents to advise best practices and aid them in running a successful campaign.
Assists with curating and posting content for the internal newsletter, Webster Today, and executing the email.
Acts as a brand steward, upholding brand standards and consistency in all projects.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors Degree - Communications or related.
At least 2 years of marketing communications experience.
Excellent use of the English language. Attention to detail. Strong writing, editing and communications skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Some knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite preferred.
A creative personality with strong interpersonal and organizational skills, the ability to work independently and work effectively in a team environment; an understanding of how to manage a client relationship and work as a liaison between the client and a creative team.
