The Creative Services division of Marketing & Communications is seeking a talented and experienced individual who understands various web platforms and content management systems, including familiarity with WordPress, Gather Content, and Trello. The role of Assistant Director, Content & Search Engine Optimization, (Assistant Director) is to work as the content strategy lead for all website design projects, bringing together team members specializing in different aspects of the website design discovery and planning process. This role works across the Creative Services team to bring together content strategy, writing, editorial, website design, and UX, to guide a comprehensive website content approach from initial discovery through implementation to ensure the final website meets the audience objectives. What You'll Have: 5-8 years of experience in the field of content strategy, or a B.A./B.S. degree in a relevant field preferred. Strong search engine optimization (SEO) skills are required, and search engine marketing (SEM) skills are preferred. Excellent attention to detail. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at once. Solid interpersonal skills with the ability to work collegially on projects. Maturity, flexibility, and ability to work effectively under deadline pressure. Proactive problem-solving skills. Good presentation skills. Superior oral and written communication skills are essential to discuss project decisions with clients as well as process and content organization. Ability to work tactfully and collaboratively with clients from throughout the University, from the Presidents office to academic departments to the University's service areas. Understanding of website design projects with a focus on user experience needs. Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in site builds, design projects, software development, and web technologies.
