Lead the development, implementation and execution of marketing and engagement communications strategies that lead to increased student enrollments in programs in the School of Professional Studies (SPS).
Provide oversight for marketing and communications strategies and functions through research, strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Serve as a key member of the SPS leadership team and provide the Associate Provost with strategic insight and consultation regarding marketing and communications.
Partner with SPS leaders and teams; department chairs and program directors in all of the academic colleges; University Communications leaders and teams, and outside vendors to meet goals.
Supervise Marketing Managers, Engagement Communications Managers, student workers, and other resources as assigned.
Identify goals and metrics for employees and manage employee performance within a culture focused on a growth mindset.
Lead, develop, execute on marketing budgets/plans and engagement communications strategies to support long-term enhanced visibility and reputation among key audiences, including enrollment and awareness goals for new and existing programs.
Make strategic decisions based on metrics (keyword rankings, click through rates, website visitors, lead generation, student engagement , CRM conversions, enrollments, etc.)
Execute and develop the SPS brand strategy to align with University branding and enhance the share of mind to raise awareness for SPS among key audiences.
Provide tools, templates, data, reporting, guidance, and training on marketing and communications efforts for MarComm staff, SPS leaders, and other stakeholders across the University.
Lead and develop communication plans, including print and digital communication, for initiatives and projects to support increased brand awareness for SPS.
Lead and develop engagement communication plans, including automated system CRM communication strategies and manual content deployments that support the recruitment of potential students as well as the retention and engagement of existing students and alumni.
Provide strategic management of SPS websites in collaboration with key internal and external partners. Maintain and continuously improve web pages via the content management system, to positively affect interest and applications to the programs.
Collaborate with the Associate Provost and other SPS Associate Directors to establish and apply standards for the SPS web pages.
Cultivate relationships with key internal partners to achieve university and programs specific goals.
Manage the online search engine optimization (SEO) and marketing campaigns.
Contribute to University and SPS committees as needed or requested.
Minimum Experience / Education:
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
University Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in a closely related field and at least three years of experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities needed in the area of assignment.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in a closely related field
Three – Five years of marketing and communications experience in higher education.
Experience collaborating with leaders in a highly matrixed higher education environment to achieve goals.
Three – Five years of supervisory experience.
Experience leading and supervising remote employees.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Experience serving as a project manager with strong organizational skills.
Track record of effective interpersonal skills and relationship management.
Experience managing vendors.
Ability to think strategically about optimization opportunities for consistent improvement.
Writing and editing skills, strong grammar and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and prioritize work while managing multiple deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and Google Suite.
Willingness to occasionally travel to work and event locations, with valid transportation.
Experience with SEO/SEM and Google Analytics.
Experience with CRM optimization
