The Merrilee Alexander Kick College of Business & Entrepreneurship at Texas Woman's University seeks a distinguished scholar for the inaugural Merrilee Alexander Kick Endowed Professor of Entrepreneurship position. This role (associate or full professor) will anchor the College's growing entrepreneurship portfolio by producing leading-edge scholarship, mentoring faculty and students, and forging research partnerships across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. The position includes a competitive salary and annual research stipend from endowment funds to support the professor's scholarly activities and impact.
Research Leadership
Maintain a distinguished research agenda with publications in top-tier entrepreneurship and management journals (FT-50, ABS 4* or ABDC-A and A*).
Exceed AACSB "Scholarly Academic (SA)" criteria through high-impact publications and ongoing research initiatives.
Develop a forward-looking research portfolio that advances entrepreneurship theory and practice.
Pursue opportunities for external grants, foundation funding, or corporate gifts to enhance the entrepreneurship ecosystem, supporting The Merrilee Alexander Kick Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
Lead collaborative research initiatives with scholars across the DFW metroplex and beyond.
Teaching & Mentoring
Teach courses in undergraduate or MBA programs in various modalities (face-to-face, hybrid, or online) with a focus on entrepreneurship topics.
Deliver core entrepreneurship courses.
Mentor and co-author with junior faculty in research design, data analytics, and manuscript development.
Supervise student research projects and provide guidance on entrepreneurial ventures.
Develop innovative pedagogical approaches that inspire and prepare the next generation of entrepreneurs.
Service & Outreach
Act as an ambassador for the College at academic conferences, policy forums, and corporate entrepreneurship events.
Foster connections between the university and the vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem in the DFW metroplex.
Contribute to the strategic direction of the College's entrepreneurship programs and initiatives.
Participate in College and University committees and governance activities as appropriate.
PhD in Entrepreneurship, Management, or closely related field.
Record of scholarship meriting tenure at the Associate or Full Professor level.
Outstanding publication record in top-tier journals with a clear and active research pipeline.
Excellence in graduate and undergraduate teaching across multiple instructional modalities.
Demonstrated commitment to advancing entrepreneurship education and research.
Experience supervising PhD dissertations, post-doctoral fellows, or other faculty development roles (preferred).
Methodological expertise in longitudinal or panel data (e.g., STATA, Python, R) or another cutting-edge methodological approach (preferred).
