The 3PL Sales and Marketing function is responsible for launching, growing, and managing Cardinal Health?s new third-party logistics (3PL) service offering for the medical market. This team will be instrumental in building a new revenue stream and expanding our service portfolio by providing specialized, value-driven supply chain solutions. This role is pivotal in establishing our footprint, creating the go-to-market strategy, and positioning Cardinal Health as a trusted 3PL partner for medical clients.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute the comprehensive sales and marketing strategy to launch and scale the new 3PL service offering.
Lead all business development and sales activities, from prospecting and lead generation to contract negotiation and closing, to build a strong client base.
Identify and target key decision-makers within potential client organizations, leveraging industry knowledge and contacts to secure new business.
Establish, manage, and maintain a robust sales pipeline to ensure consistent growth and achievement of revenue targets.
Build and foster strong, long-term relationships with clients to ensure high levels of satisfaction, retention, and opportunities for expansion.
Collaborate with internal cross-functional partners (including Operations, Legal, and Finance) to ensure a seamless and successful service delivery for clients.
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and the evolving needs of the medical market to identify risks and strategically position the 3PL offering for sustained success.
Create and manage key supplier and client relationships as their primary sales and marketing liaison, creating strategies and deployment tactics to optimize performance.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred.
5+ years of sales, business development, or marketing experience within the 3PL/logistics industry preferred.
Proven experience and deep knowledge of the 3PL industry, including market dynamics, pricing, and operational models preferred.
Experience selling logistics or other services into the medical, pharmaceutical, or broader healthcare market is strongly preferred.
Demonstrated track record of successfully winning new business, exceeding sales targets, and building a service from the ground up preferred.
A self-starter mentality with the ability to work independently and drive results in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment preferred.
Strong financial acumen and experience with complex contract negotiations preferred.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create and deliver compelling presentations to both internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to travel up to 40%.
